On October 1, 1998, Shri. B. Ram Mohan Rao, Chairman of Dwarakamai Seva Trust, laid the Foundation Stone of this Trust. The Dwarakamai Seva Trust initiated its activities by accommodating three elderly people in a small hut erected at the site. These individuals were provided with basic amenities and other facilities for their day-to-day needs.
In the year 2003, a multi-storeyed building was constructed that could accommodate around 30 inhabitants. The Trust also obtained Income Tax Exemption Certificate under section 80G the same year.
Additionally, the Shirdi Sansthan's Board began providing free-of-cost evening meals for the elderly living in the Ashram.

A medical team started fortnightly visits to provide medical aid to the elderly.
From eight residents in 2003, the residents count increased to 30 in 2006. During this year, Sri Pramod Aher, a press reporter, visited the Ashram with some Shirdi Sai Sansthan officials and organized a press meet to spread awareness about the ashram. Because of which the Shirdi Sansthan was kind enough to arrange the supply of water to the Ashram.
In August 2010, Sri Aravind Tikoo, from Srinagar visited the Ashram. He was impressed with the services being offered at the Ashram and decided to help further expand the Ashram to accommodate more than 100 residents. Later, in May 2011, the foundation stone was laid for the construction of a new multi-storeyed building adjoining the existing one. On November 5, 2012, Smt. & Shri.
